Combat Engineer Specialist of the Katasi

Magic and mischief reeks in the air of Lion's Arch. I am very displeased that we have to lodge here while I await to hear from Keriaz. I've told the Norn not to mess in the random cauldrons spread throughout the city... The effects of those things are... dangerous and strange. We had come here in the first place to find an old friend (the word "friend" being light in its definition) an Asura named Keriaz. I had met her in the wilds of Metrica Province during my traveling days. She was running some crazy experiment that got out of hand. Once I cleaned up her mess, the crazy pyromaniac Asura asked for a certain type of assistance. At the time, I thought it would benefit her research as crazy as it sounded, but...well that will be explained at another time. Kravan, Kitanie, Baldir, and I set out from Hoelbrak to Lion's Arch. I had told them that we needed to find Keriaz in order to decipher the Mursaat Tome. I had last seen her at Lion's Arch while passing through, and I hoped that she still resided there. Equillian could not join us at this time, due to some personal business. So, leading the Katasi through the portal, we went to what we thought was Lion's Arch.

It was not.

At first we thought, anyways... Lion's Arch had been completely taken over by magic and some other dark evil. Cauldrons littered the street for travelers to drink from... only to be turned into some beast of the forest or field. Candles floated in the air, pumpkins had faces carved on them, and there was a strange cone like candy being passed around. Turning to Kravan, I asked what was going on. He seemed to have some clue about the happenings. The humans have a holiday of sorts for magic, mischief, and everything that is scary called Halloween. I was going to ask him another question about the madness going around us until I felt a beak poking my arm. I look to my left to see a moa bird looking at me with slightly worried eyes. I had no idea where this moa came from, and I was about to push it away until another creature grabbed my attention. A blue ooze plopped right beside me. It seemed friendly enough, but something seemed different about it from a normal ooze. That was when I realized that Kitanie and Baldir were missing. My left eye the caught one of the Krytans drink from a small cauldron. He reeled over clutching his chest and a few moments later he was suddenly a small bunny. It was at this time I figured out why these two creatures near me were acting so different. Baldir and Kitanie had drunk from the cauldrons and turned into these creatures. Aggravated, I scolded them for going off and drinking from the cauldrons and told them not to do it again. Not wanting to stay out in the open no longer than we needed to, we went further into Lion's Arch... where an even bigger cauldron was set. While I talked to a few people to try to find out about Keriaz, Baldir and Kitanie returned to normal, but Kitanie wasn't feeling well. I gave them both a bit of time to rest before sending everyone out to help me find Keriaz. After about an hour of searching, we could not find her. Meeting back up, we discussed our next plan of action while Baldir munched on the cone shaped candy called "Candy Corn". He mentioned that it wasn't very pleasant to eat... at first. I'm pretty sure he has a few bags of the stuff in his room right now. Anyways, we decided that I would send a letter to Rata Sum to gather the whereabouts of Keriaz. Most likely, she is at Rata Sum, but I don't want to go running around in circles trying to find one Asura.

For now, we will stay in Lion's Arch and rest till I receive a reply. I don't plan on participating in the festivities, but perhaps I could find out more information on the origin of this human holiday. There is supposedly a long history behind it, and I am curious to find out about it. Still no word about Rows. With him gone this long and with no word of his existence , I would pronounce him dead, but I won't for the sake of the others. Hopefully, this Tome will be worth deciphering.

May my brothers and sisters rest in peace...

First off, this is the last backlogged journal I have written for Sharak. This was written during the Halloween event in GW2. It is unfortunately during the time when the RP in my guild tanked due to leadership changes and people dropping off to play other things. My officer had a story setup; however, we couldn't move forward with it when the time came. I haven't been able to do any RP with Sharak since. I plan to continue his journals with or without a RP to back it. I hope to find a guild soon with RP and then I will be able to continue it. I will continue to make short stories for him as well until I can make the journals. If I can't find a guild and I run out of short stories, I will be starting another journal series from his past until I can move forward with the present. Until then, just hang tight and I will try to get this up again as soon as possible!
